Overview
Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) students participated in Global Oklahoma on October 7th on the campus of Rose State College, Midwest City, Oklahoma. Global Oklahoma is an annual event that brings together the cultures of the world to promote appreciation and understanding of the peoples of the world and Oklahoma's rich and diverse heritage. This appreciation and understanding is developed through exhibits, entertainment, food, school displays, and art. Canada was the represented country for this year's festival.
SIFE manned a booth at the festival, showing informational videos and displaying literature about the SIFE organization and its purposes, goals, etc. Canadian flag temporary tattoos and balloons were sold, along with complimentary crayons coloring/activity books containing interesting facts of interest about Canada. In addition, Bella's Sweet Eats sold several examples of delicious “goodies”, such as cookies, dipped apples, and popcorn. Bella's Sweet Eats is a new entrepreneur business that SIFE is assisting in several different areas, including website creation, SBA contact assistance, and Made in Oklahoma product assistance.
Assisting SIFE in this endeavor were two local businesses, Anderson Vending, who provided our T-Shirts with SIFE logo and the Canadian Maple Leaf on the reverse, and Season's Florist, who provided the helium and tank for the balloons.
